Brendan Stermer is a poet from western Minnesota. He is the author of a letterpress chapbook, Forgotten Frequencies (NDSU Press, 2023), winner of the 2023 Poetry of the Plains & Prairies Award and a 2024 Midwest Book Award finalist. He is the “manufacturer” of Semi-Finished Goods (Prairie Sea Flotilla, 2025), a collection of erasures & extractions exploring profit, production, emptiness, and the Upper Midwest.
With Andy Stermer, he makes a short podcast called Interesting People Reading Poetry, where artists & luminaries read a favorite poem and share what it means to them.
His poems can be found in The Missouri Review, Raleigh Review, Rust & Moth, North Dakota Quarterly, and elsewhere.
